Blue Lagoon Ölüdeniz

Ölüdeniz has to be most famous for its Blue Lagoon. It has to be the most featured view and the iconic back drop for Turkeys beach holidays pictured in almost every holiday brochure ever made. With the mountainous back drop and the crystal clear waters it’s clear to see why this is arguably the most well known resort on the Turquoise coast.

It’s mountains make it a paradise for paragliders too. Ölüdeniz is host to the annual paragliding air games usually held in October. Paragliders from all over the world join together in this perfect location to perform tricks and compete in the games filling the sky with exciting performances.

Through out the rest of the summer, this resort comes alive from early to mid April with the main strip offering a bustling array of shops for clothes, shoes, handbags and souvenirs as well as bars and restaurants, beauty salons, excursion providers and much more. The main strip runs down to the beach front promenade lining the well known beach called Belcekiz. Belcekiz beach is mostly made from white pebbles which allows the sea to boast its beautiful deep turquoise colour.

Eating out in Ölüdeniz provides a huge choice of restaurants from a quick kebab or burger, restaurants specialising in British dishes… through to upmarket fine dining, traditional Turkish cuisine, steaks, Italian, Indian and even a Chinese restaurant. There really is something to suit everyones taste, budget and occasion.

You won’t be short of something to do in Ölüdeniz with pirate boat trips, party boat trips and just plain lazy relaxing boat trips. Beach bars, beach clubs, beach parties and Turkish beach BBQ nights. If you prefer a more scenic route to exert some energy, you can hike along just a small section of one of the worlds longest hiking routes… The Lycian Way with some of its ancient sites and stunning views. The Blue Lagoon is home to many private beach clubs offering sun loungers, parasols, restaurants, bars and bathroom facilities. The beaches on the Blue Lagoon are mostly fine sandy beaches, the sea is gentle with little to no waves making if perfect for families. Hire a kayak or pedalo, take a ride out on a boat or simply soak up the sun. Theres a choice of beach clubs to suit everyone from family friendly, quiet and relaxing and some more lively .
When the suns gone down, the choice of evening entertainment ranges from a chilled out atmosphere in one of the many popular restaurants, traditional Turkish dancing and music nights, live bands and singers through to karaoke and fun pubs. For those wanting to party the night away, the nearby resort of Hisarönü offers a large selection of bars and night clubs.

Ölüdeniz offers something for everyone and is a firm favourite amongst new and returning visitors.
